What is Mercedes-Benz PARKTRONIC®?

2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA vs. GLC

One of the most impressive Mercedes-Benz safety technologies, PARKTRONIC® with Active Parking Assist, is going to make your adventures in Providence feel so much easier. If you drive a Mercedes-Benz GLE or a C-Class with this parking assist feature, your vehicle will be able to park itself automatically. Getting ready to upgrade with a model that includes this technology? Learn how to use park assist in a Mercedes-Benz C-Class or one of our other popular models today.

How to Use Park Assist Technology

While Mercedes-Benz PARKTRONIC® technology is bound to seem futuristic, you won’t have to worry about much of a learning curve. Here’s how to use park assist in a modern Mercedes-Benz vehicle:

  1. Scan for Parking Spots: As you pull up to your destination around East Greenwich at 20 mph or less, the PARKTRONIC® technology scans for suitable parking spots. It identifies spots by measuring the distance between vehicles on both sides of the road, and once it calculates a spot with enough room, an arrow will appear on the display.
  2. Select Your Gear: From there, learning how to use park assist in your C-Class is as simple as shifting into reverse and pressing “OK”. The system recognizes you’re ready to park and will begin to steer you into position, you just have to control the throttle and brake. If you’re too close to other vehicles, the PARKTRONIC® sensors will let you know.
  3. Make Adjustments: The Mercedes-Benz parking assist feature may get you perfectly in the parking spot on the first try, but it will still ask you to shift into drive and back to reverse to finish the job. The system will take over steering again while you shift gears and ease off the brakes.

This innovative technology has you covered when you’re ready to get back on Cranston roads too! Once you’re ready to go, engage your blinker to inform other drivers you’re moving out, and the PARKTRONIC® with Active Parking Assist system will nimbly navigate you after you press “OK”.

Using Mercedes-Benz parking assist technology takes some of the worry out of parking on city streets in East Greenwich, but it’s extremely important to stay aware of your surroundings. Other driver assist technology is geared toward monitoring pedestrians in some circumstances, but it’s best to be on the lookout when using the PARKTRONIC® technology.

If you’d like to find a new or pre-owned vehicle with PARKTRONIC®, then take advantage of our vehicle finder service! We’ll go to work to help you find the perfect match.
