Each AMG® engine is hand-built by one engineer from start to finish, which ensures quality. You can also find a variety of AMG® variants of Mercedes-Benz accessories to further upgrade performance.

Performance

The History of AMG®

AMG® stands for Aufrecht Melcher Grossaspach — the last names and birthplace of Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher. These former engineers founded the AMG® Engine Production and Development, Ltd in 1967. First used as racing engines, AMG® engines are now used in the Mercedes-Benz models seen on the roads today.
