What Is the Mercedes-Benz Service Schedule?

Mercedes-Benz has divided their service schedule into two basic checklists: Mercedes-Benz Service A* and Mercedes-Benz Service B*. These service menus are designed to check up on all of the machinery that your Mercedes-Benz vehicle depends on, and you’ll schedule one or the other roughly once per year, every 10,000 miles. The service center at Mercedes-Benz of Warwick has more information on the Mercedes-Benz service schedule below!

Mercedes-Benz Service A and Mercedes-Benz Service B

Let’s start with Mercedes-Benz Service A*, the first scheduled maintenance appointment you’ll have to cover after driving 10,000 miles in Providence and East Greenwich. Here’s what’s included:

Once you get to 20,000 miles, it’s time to get Mercedes-Benz Service B*. For this, you’ll get many of the same features as Mercedes-Benz Service A, but with a few additional parts replacements:

  • Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement^
  • Oil Filter Replacement^
  • Cabin dust/combination filter replacement
  • Brake fluid change
  • Fluid level check and replacement if needed
  • Multipoint inspection
  • Wiper blades replacement

After these initial Mercedes-Benz Service A and Mercedes-Benz Service B appointments, your vehicle maintenance will follow roughly the same patterns. So, at the 30,000-mile marker, you’ll get Mercedes-Benz Service A. Then, at 40,000 miles, you’ll get Mercedes-Benz Service B. The pattern continues until you’re ready for a new vehicle!

Mercedes-Benz Service Costs Explained

How much does Mercedes-Benz maintenance cost? How do Mercedes-Benz Service A and Mercedes-Benz Service B costs compare in practice? Here’s what you should keep in mind:

  • Precise costs will vary depending on your model, model year, and other factors. Average service costs don’t paint a complete picture, but it’s worth noting that most Mercedes-Benz owners spend less than $1,000 on maintenance every year.
  • Mercedes-Benz Service A costs tend to hover around $250, while Mercedes-Benz Service B costs tend to start at close to $500.
  • When you choose Mercedes-Benz Prepaid Maintenance, you could reduce your basic maintenance costs by more than one third.

Before you schedule your appointment and pay the full Mercedes-Benz service cost, make sure to explore our Mercedes-Benz service specials. We even offer service financing for larger jobs that you may not want to put off. Remember, regular maintenance helps to preserve your vehicle’s value in the long run and reduce the likelihood of expensive repairs down the road.

ASSYST Plus: Your Maintenance Schedule Assistant

Starting in 2006, Mercedes-Benz equipped all their vehicles with a helpful tool to keep up with their Mercedes-Benz service schedule: the Active Service System (ASSYST), or ASSYST Plus. The lights on your dashboard indicate where you’re at in the Mercedes-Benz service schedule: one wrench icon means Service A and two wrenches mean Service B.

Additional icons may be displayed if your Mercedes-Benz requires more extensive checks or inspections, but we’ll be able to decipher these codes with little trouble, and you can expect a standard Service A or Service B visit in most cases.
