The E-Class is available with both gas and plug-in hybrid systems. The base trim level comes with a turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. It produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. A 375-horsepower, turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine is also available. The plug-in hybrid powertrain produces 577 horsepower. All these engines come with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The S-Class is also available with two gasoline engines and a plug-in hybrid. The base system is a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that delivers 442 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. The mid-level trim is equipped with a turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. It produces 496 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The plug-in hybrid system puts out 496 horsepower. Every 2026 S-Class comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Appearance
The 2026 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has an engaging, sophisticated design that turns heads on the road. It is styled with smooth flow across the profile, along with subtle definition over the sides and hood. The headlights are topped by a solid LED bar and are underscored by a scalloped LED element. The upturned grille shows off the brand logo and a series of columns.
The larger 2026 S-Class is styled with pinstripe definition over the hood. The swooping definition on the sides aligns with the arched roof. The grille is gracefully rounded on the sides. It is flanked by contemporary headlights styled with LED bulbs and an LED bar.

The E-Class is well-appointed with pampering features. These include a 12.3-inch passenger display screen integrated with a 14.4-inch central display screen, a digital 11.9-inch instrument panel, a power-closing and hands-free trunk, a premium sound system, heated and massaging front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless smartphone app connectivity, a 3D display for the navigation system, a wireless charging pad, soft-close doors, and others.
